About me and my practice

What I offer:

My name is Anna and I am a qualified, Humanistic counsellor. This means I work in a way that aims to see your world through your eyes and create a safe, non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings. This may enable you to understand yourself better by building awareness of the way you relate to yourself and others in the world. In this way, the possibility for change and choice can become more apparent.

I will work with you at your pace and encourage you to bring to sessions what you feel you need to explore.

My belief is that past experiences impact on the way we are in the present. Exploring beliefs and messages from the past can give us insight that will enable us the freedom to change aspects of ourselves or patterns of relating that are not serving us anymore.

I also believe that the relationship between a client and therapist is one of the most important factors, and an indicator of how successful the work will be. Additionally, the dynamics between us can serve as a template for how other relationships play out in your life and is something we can work with together. For this reason, it is important that we explore if I am going to be the right counsellor for you, which is something we can navigate in the first session.

My aim is to work with each person as a unique, individual so I encourage you to come with whatever you want to explore. In the course of my practice I have worked with people suffering with a range of challenges, some of which include; overwhelm, stress, bereavement, anxiety, depression, university life, loss, relationships with family and friends, relationship to self, parenting, anger, childhood trauma and low self-esteem. If you don’t see your issue on this list please don’t let that stop you from reaching out, if you are interested.
